As much as it is effective in preventing pregnancy, Aviane birth control has some side effects too. The first and the foremost are the birth defects. If the medication is not taken as per prescription, there is high risk of pregnancy and the birth of the child may result in abnormalities.
The medication should be taken exactly as prescribed by the doctor- not larger dozes and not if the doctor asks to stop taking the medicine. Any slightest change within the body must be immediately reported to the doctor. There could be nausea, migraines, general weakness, etc; all this should be immediately reported to the doctor. Also if you are to undergo any major operation or surgery, the treating doctor should be informed that you are on Aviane and for a brief course taking the medicine can be avoided. Be in regular consultation with the doctor who suggests you to take Aviane.
With so much of consciousness the medicine needs to be taken. The next question is what happens if any doze is missed? Let’s see how we can handle that.
If one dose is missed:
If you miss one pill, take two pills on the day you remember and from the next day, start taking one pill per day.
If you miss two pills in the first or second week, then take two pills per day for the number of days you have missed and then one pill per day for the rest of the days.
If you miss three pills in week three or two pills till the third week, then you have to start with a new pack on the same day.
If you miss two pills in that month, chances are high of missing your periods. If you miss your periods two months continuously, get a pregnancy test done and definitely consult your doctor.
This is the brief procedure if the dose is missed. On the flip side, what would happen if you have overdosed? The answer is seek immediate medical attention and there can be some symptoms of overdose like nausea, vomiting, and vaginal bleeding.
